New Music: St. Vincent – ‘Surgeon’

After four days of tweeting, St. Vincent’s “Surgeon” is finally here. The synthesizers and electro breaks aren’t too removed from the chillwave and PBR&B influences that have washed over indie rock lately, but as always, Ms. Clark remains one of our last hopes for worthwhile individualism. Strange Mercy is due September 13 on 4AD.
